Université Française d’Égypte (UFE) was established in 2002 under the high auspices of the Presidency of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Presidency of the French Republic. As a non-profit national institution (Université Ahleya), UFE serves as a bilateral scientific and cultural platform linking French academic rigor directly with Egyptian and regional students.
January 28, 2019 Refoundation: During the official state summit between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Emmanuel Macron, a landmark intergovernmental agreement was signed to refound UFE as a flagship international university center.
Dual Government Supervision: Governed jointly by the French Ministry of Higher Education & Research and the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
