Questions Fréquentes

Is speaking French mandatory to enroll at UFE? expand_more

No. The majority of our academic programs (Computer Engineering, Management, Energy, Architecture) are taught in English. For non-francophone students, intensive French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are integrated directly into the curriculum starting from Year 1 to ensure progressive mastery and facilitate your future academic or professional mobility in France.

Is the degree awarded identical to the one issued in France? expand_more

Yes. Under bilateral intergovernmental treaties, UFE graduates receive the authentic French National State Diploma issued directly by the partner French university (e.g., Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, Université de Nantes, INSA Strasbourg) alongside the Egyptian national degree accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities. Graduates enjoy complete, legal dual-recognition in both Egypt and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

Can students spend a semester or complete their final year in France? expand_more

Absolutely. Every program includes built-in pathways for mobility, exchange semesters, and double-degree completion with our partner universities in France. In addition, students have access to Erasmus+ mobility grants and French Embassy research scholarships.

How do merit scholarships work, and who is eligible? expand_more

UFE offers competitive merit scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition fees based on high school exit examinations (Thanaweya Amma, French Baccalauréat, IGCSE, American Diploma, and IB). Scholarships are renewed annually contingent upon academic excellence (GPA maintenance). Additional financial aid is available through French cooperation grants.

What transportation and student services are provided at the El Shorouk campus? expand_more

The university operates a comprehensive daily shuttle bus fleet connecting the El Shorouk campus with all major districts of Cairo, Giza, New Cairo, Heliopolis, Nasr City, Maadi, and the New Administrative Capital. The campus also features modern cafeteria services, sports facilities, high-tech computer clusters, and an on-site student health center.
