A team of third-year undergraduate engineering students from the Computer Science & AI department at UFE has claimed first place at the MENA CleanTech Robotics Challenge.

The student project, titled "HelioClean AI", leverages computer vision and lightweight carbon-fiber mechanics to autonomously inspect and clean solar photovoltaic arrays in arid and desert climates, reducing water consumption by 92% compared to traditional maintenance systems.

The prototype was developed within the UFE El Shorouk FabLab under the joint academic supervision of faculty from EFREI Paris and Université de Haute-Alsace.
